Head of R&D

Exclusively partnered with a Global Leading Savory Ingredients Producer who is on the search for a Head of R&D.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

• Define and drive the R&D strategy in alignment with company growth objectives and customer requirements.
• Translate market trends and scientific advancements into commercially viable ingredient solutions.
• Scout and evaluate new technologies, raw materials, and collaborations
• Inspire, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary R&D team including food technologists, scientists, and application specialists.

Project Management, Product Innovation & Development

• Lead global projects & the development of new ingredients, formulations, and process optimisations from concept through scale-up to commercialization.
• Ensure technical excellence and product quality in line with regulatory standards and customer expectations.
• Oversee prototype creation, application testing, and performance validation for various end-use industries.

Regulatory & Quality Assurance & Operational Excellence

• Ensure R&D compliance with all relevant food safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Contribute to intellectual property strategy and patent protection
• Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines efficiently.
• Drive operational excellence in laboratory practices, process development, and pilot plant activities.

Your Profile:

• Technological education - MSc in Food Technology or relevant area
• 5 years of progressive experience in R&D, with experience in leadership position within the food ingredients or food manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record of successfully bringing new ingredients or formulations to market.
• Strong knowledge of food ingredient functionality, formulation, and process development.
• Fluent in German and English.
