Omnisent is pioneering scalable acoustic sensing powered by AI — transforming audio into real-time intelligence.
We build hardware software tailored for acoustic data, designed to extract insights from complex acoustic signals. Our proprietary ultra-low-power sonic devices capture and process acoustic signals in real-time, training what we call a Large Acoustic Model (LAM) — our foundation model built to decode the rich, messy, and untapped world of non-speech audio.
We’re starting with the manufacturing industry, applying our tech to compressed air systems — one of the most overlooked sources of energy waste. From there, we’re expanding into energy, defense, space, and smart cities — sectors where is the next frontier.
Tasks
Edge Computing, Data Acquisition & Environmental Characterization
- Develop and refine advanced acoustic pre-processing algorithms for real-time edge computing and efficient data transmission.
- Analyze acoustic responses and noise from parasitic sources to develop tests to validate performance in diverse conditions.
- Work with mechatronics, IoT, and embedded systems teams to integrate low-noise, high-frequency data acquisition systems for precise signal conditioning.
- Interface multiple sensor arrays (e.g., microphone arrays) with embedded systems to enable real-time processing and sophisticated analysis of acoustic signatures—supporting environmental sensing, sensor localization, leak detection, and quantification of physical parameters.
Advanced Signal Processing, Localization & Insight Extraction
- Implement and optimize advanced noise reduction, filtering, and quantization techniques to enhance signal clarity.
- Extract statistical features from acoustic data, detecting and characterizing anomalies such as air leaks and sensor (mis)placements.
- Design sound localization algorithms capable of accurate operation in complex, noisy industrial environments, enabling precise sensor positioning and environmental characterization (such as using radar principles and time synchronisation methods).
Testing & Documentation
- Develop and lead test procedures using advanced tools (e.g., MATLAB, waveform analyzers) to validate operation and troubleshoot integration challenges.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with electronics, AI, and acoustics engineers to refine algorithms and adapt to evolving requirements.
- Establish best practices and documentation for continuous knowledge sharing and process optimization.
- Work with research institutions and external pilots to validate findings and translate research into practical solutions.
