The Business Process Owner (m/f/d) - Global Logistic is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end processes related to transportation and warehousing activities. This role ensures that all logistics operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. The BPO will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a full-time position located at our Headquarter in Cologne.
Job Responsibilities
Process Management:
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transport and warehousing activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, Security & safety standards, and company policies.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess process efficiency and effectiveness
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Lead and participate in improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance logistics operations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with numerous internal stakeholders, especially with our IT department to design and secure our Logistic processes by being the interface between our logistic applications and ERP system
- Collaborate with and guide external partners to optimize our logistic performance.
- Support the implementation of ERP, WMS, and TMS flows.
Technology and Systems:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of LMS, WMS and TMS
- Leverage data analytics and technology to drive process improvements and decision-making.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with transport and warehousing activities.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
Profile
- Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience, with proven expertise in logistics, transport, and warehousing management.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including integration with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent English and German skills, French would be beneficial.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment and be actively involved in field operations.
- Willingness to travel as needed to various warehouse and transport locations, approximately 10-15%.
