Role Description

This is a 10-hour-per-week on-site role based in Augustenstraße 40, 80333, Munich for a Student Assistant. You will develop a web app that simply translates a given input graph into human-readable explanations via LLMs (first close-source for testing, and at deployment time open-source ones). This isn't a research-based position, rather a more hands-on implementation one (so using Cursor is viable here to speed-up your coding). Our team has a researcher allocated to this research project which is trying to understand what are the brain connections that alter when transitioning from a non-epileptic state to an epileptic one.

Your job is to:

1. Deploy the model that the researcher is training.
2. Open API calls that permit the model to perform inference on a given graph input.
3. Read the dataset(s) that we'll provide from the web app.
4. Deploy an open-source (in the end) LLM (or have a list to choose from through the UI) that translates graphs into human-readable language
5. Wrap everything into a usable thing!

You can choose whatever programming language you want as long as things work. Full liberty is given in how you do stuff as long as you do them.

The role starts on 01/07/2025 and ends on 31/10/2025 (we're working in August).

Note: This is just a collector of CVs and scheduling of interviews for me. The hiring will be done via the Technical University of Munich.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience with web programming (any suite).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Enrolled in a Master's program at TUM in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Nice to have: fine-tuning LLMs or in-context learning.
• EU Citizenship or German Residency Permit.
• Bachelor's degree (if foreign, you need to prove the equivalence with the German one).
