Coinmotion is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team! You'll be part of our 60-member expert organization specializing in cryptocurrency services. In this role, you'll lead a team of approximately ten and collaborate with your team and internal stakeholders to design and implement development projects.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be:

• Leading and developing your team in line with our leadership practices. This includes for example overseeing performance management, conducting regular one-on-one and development discussions, managing resources and recruitment, and supporting the team as a direct supervisor.
• Continuously evaluating and improving engineering processes and practices to increase efficiency, quality, and team productivity
• Coordinating cross-team work and collaboration
• Collaborating with the CTO to build the technical roadmap and strategy
• Overseeing technical development projects, such as driving AI technology adoption, enhancing data and analytics utilization, improving user experience (UX) with a customer-centric focus, developing security strategy and spearheading internal digital transformation initiatives.

This position is for you if have:

• Self-driven, autonomous work style with a curious, hands-on attitude
• Experience leading and managing engineering teams, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management
• Great understanding of software architecture
• Understanding of software development processes, such as Agile or Scrum
• Experience in B2C service development
• Background in a regulated environment, particularly in transaction-based systems with significant activity and monitoring
• Experience in fintech or financial services
• Excellent communication in English and experience working with a distributed team of remote employees
• Interest in cryptocurrencies
• Experience with PHP is a plus, as it's one of our main programming languages. 

You will be reporting directly to the CTO. While we have product owners responsible for managing backlogs, writing and prioritizing tickets will not be the primary focus of this role. Instead, you will assist the product owners as a key technical stakeholder. The duties of this role may be tailored according to your unique skills and expertise. As this is a newly established position, the responsibilities might change over time.

Our offices are located in Helsinki, Tampere, and Jyväskylä, but our team works all around Finland, primarily remotely. You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Finland, with occasional travel to one of our offices to meet your team members.
