Health Care Assistant

We are looking for dedicated Home Care Assistants to join our team in the Carlow area. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be patient, empathetic and have a passion for caring for others. Due to location of clients having access to a car is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Preparing and serving meals and snacks
• Light housekeeping duties
• Assisting clients with mobility and transfers
• Providing companionship and emotional support to clients

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 months experience in a care-giving role
• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent - must have 2 modules 'Care Skills' and 'Care of the Older Person' at a minimum
• Full driving license and access to a car is desirable, as some of our clients you cannot walk to.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: €14.50-€19.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Carlow, CO. Carlow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• Healthcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Level 5 in healthcare support (preferred)
• Driving Licence (required)
