Allied Health Administrator, Temporary (12 months), 22 hours p/w

Vacancies have arisen at Blackrock Health, Galway Clinic for an Allied Health Administrator.

Roles are on a temporary (12 months) part-time basis, working 22 hours per week.


These roles are mostly based in Radiology Reception,
which is the first point of contact for patients and visitors to the radiology department. This role is responsible for managing patient check in and registrations. The Radiology Receptionist works closely with radiologists, radiographers and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the department.


The Role:

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing assistance as needed.

Check in patients for appointments, verifying personal and insurance information.

Address patient enquiries regarding appointment times, procedures, and department policies.

Setting up patient accounts, pre-registering and registering patients

Co-ordinate Billing, Processing Monitoring of patient charges and Issue of receipts

Schedule and reschedule radiology appointments, coordinating with department availability.

Confirm appointments and notify patients of any changes or cancellations.

Maintain accurate patient records

Process referrals and pre-authorisation paperwork as required.

Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and radiographers to ensure seamless communication.

Direct calls to appropriate staff members or departments as necessary.

Notify the clinical team of any delays or patient concerns.

Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the reception area.

Manage incoming mail and correspondence related to the radiology department.

Collaborate with other administrative staff to support department operations.


The Candidate:

Previous experience in a similar role and database entry - highly desirable

Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

Organisational skills to manage a high volume of patient flow and appointments.

Empathy and patience when interacting with patients who may be anxious or in pain.

Problem-solving abilities to handle scheduling conflicts or urgent issues effectively.

Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively

Basic understanding of medical terminology, particularly related to radiology.

Strong computer skills
