Overview:
We are currently seeking a Loading Shovel Operative to join our team at Ballycoolin Plant.
As a Loading Shovel Operative, you will effectively and efficiently carryout all duties associated with the operation and manning of the loading shovel.

To comply with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and policies
- To operate and monitor equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- To perform or assist with preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections, repair and/ or clean equipment as required
- Ensure that the bucket of the loading shovel is free from material that can contaminate the product to be loaded
- When graded material is loaded, ensure a well-mixed product free from excessive segregation
- To support the housekeeping of plant, equipment, and site
- To comprehend and complete paperwork associated with this role in a timely and accurate manner
- Load pre coated chippings
- Ensure stockpiles are properly segregated
- Any concern regarding the quality of the products should not be loaded or accepted and should be brought to the attention of the production manager before proceeding further.
- Follow all company policy and procedures and maintain accurate documentation relating to all invoices
- To undertake any other duties reasonably requested in support of site operations
What we need from you…
Essential Criteria
- Previous knowledge and experience of working with plant and equipment in a construction environment.
- Ability to operate mobile plant
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to work flexibly to meet business needs – to include early, late and weekend shifts
- Ability to multi-task
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge and / or experience of operating within a quarry environment.
- Mechanical, hands-on background
