Plumber / Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

CBFM Recruitment is hiring on behalf of a leading Facilities Management company based in Cork. We are seeking an experienced Plumber / Maintenance Technician with strong mechanical skills and a background in regulated environments, ideally within pharmaceutical or industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, pipework, and plant utilities
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and conduct preventative maintenance
• Support the commissioning and upgrading of systems and equipment
• Work with stainless steel and hygienic piping systems
• Adhere to GMP, health and safety procedures, and permit-to-work protocols
• Maintain accurate records using CMMS platforms such as SAP or Maximo
• Apply logical, real-time problem-solving skills to technical issues
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• Work independently or collaboratively within a team
• Prioritise workload effectively and perform under pressure
• Communicate clearly and professionally in fluent English

Requirements

• QQI Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in Plumbing or Mechanical Fitting
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or industrial settings
• Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification
• Experience working in GMP-compliant and cleanroom environments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding capabilities
• Own transport (site not accessible by public transport)

Desirable Certifications (Nice to Have)

• Knowledge of pharma utilities (WFI, clean steam, compressed air)
• Certifications in MEWP, Confined Space Entry, and Working at Height

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €25.00-€28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 – 44 per week
