Process Engineer (Water and Waste Water)

Salary: Negotiable, where commensurate is based on experience. Annual performance-based bonus.

Celtic Anglian Water is excited to advertise the role of Process Engineer based in Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW), Dublin 4. Ringsend WwTW is the largest wastewater treatment facility in Ireland, currently undertaking expansive upgrades to facilitate the treatment of a 2.4 million population equivalent. This role will encompass the monitoring and managing of processes and process improvements across all sections of the wastewater treatment process: the water stream, the sludge handling, and thermal drying streams.

The ideal candidate would have an in-depth knowledge of all parts of wastewater treatment with a keen interest in process optimisation, data interpretation and management, and managing people. A postgraduate qualification (MSc or PhD) in chemical engineering, environmental or microbiological science, or a related field is an advantage. Relevant industrial experience, with an emphasis on process safety, is preferable but not essential. This role will require interacting with all members of the operations team, contactors and stakeholders on a daily basis and will require the applicant to possess good communication and people skills. This role also requires the applicant to be proficient in document and report writing, and presenting and conducting site tours.

The successful applicant will manage a team of process technicians, conduct individual continuous improvement projects, and will be encouraged to undertaking training in all areas of Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Health & Safety, Process Safety, and managing people.

The appointment is on a permanent basis in Dublin, although infrequent travel to company locations in Ireland and the UK may be necessary.
