The Chemco Logistics Administrator is responsible for overseeing the logistics and transportation of chemical products, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. The role is detail-orientated in a fast paced, customer focused environment. The role requires knowledge of Road, Ocean and Air Freight with particular focus on ADR, IMDG and IATA requirements. The Logistics Administrator will also be the primary point of contact for clients, 3rd party logistics providers, brokers, internal customers and regulatory bodies.

This role also includes general administrative duties to support all departments within the Chemco team and ensure efficient and effective operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process the necessary transactions to ensure the transportation of chemical products is executed within the defined customer SLA.
  • Manage the flow of paperwork and information relevant to chemical movements and inventory management.
  • Coordinate with external partners and internal team members to schedule deliveries in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Liaise with suppliers, transporters, brokers and customers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Work directly with and assist the warehouse team in the preparation of material for export where required to ensure compliance with all regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventories.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Prepare and process receipts, orders, invoices, and shipping documents.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for all logistics activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of KPI's, reports and presentations for management.
  • Recognise, document, and escalate customer issues or trends following appropriate communication and escalation channels where required.
  • Support inventory management & cycle counting activities.
  • Respond to customer queries and provide information related to product availability, movements etc.
  • Resolve any logistics-related issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transporters, and customers.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

Experience Required

  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. This person should have experience working in a logistics orientated role. Experience working with Hazardous materials would be an advantage.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and observational skills
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative to meet deadlines in a result orientated environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills via all channels including in person, email and telephone communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of ADR, IATA and IMDG requirements would be an advantage.
  • Hardworking, honest and trustworthy.
  • Excellent work ethic.
