As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we are looking to recruit a dedicated and passionate Sustainability Manager to lead our sustainability initiatives across our properties and operations. This role will be pivotal in driving sustainable business practices, ensuring we continue to meet our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Implement Sustainability Strategy: Lead the creation and execution of the sustainability strategy across the entire Connacht Hospitality Group portfolio, including hotels, bars, and restaurants.
  • Sustainability Accreditation & Reporting: Oversee and manage sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Key, EcoLabel, B.Corp ) and ensure compliance with environmental standards. Track, measure, and report on sustainability KPIs and progress toward set goals.
  • Energy & Resource Management: Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, water usage, and waste across all properties. Implement initiatives to improve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Sustainable Procurement: Develop and implement sustainable sourcing and procurement practices, ensuring that all products and services align with our sustainability values.
  • Staff Engagement & Training: Champion sustainability within the organization by providing training and raising awareness across all levels of staff. Foster a culture of sustainability through education and involvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with local authorities, sustainability partners, and other industry stakeholders to enhance sustainability practices and share best practices.
  • Reporting : weekly and monthly reporting on energy usage, KPI’s and a monthly reporting pack on Sustainability in the Group.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of emerging sustainability trends and technologies. Identify innovative solutions to integrate into the group's operations.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and industry standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a sustainability-focused role, ideally within the hospitality, food & beverage, or service industries.
  • Management: Must have people management experience.
  • Education: Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of sustainability best practices, energy management, waste reduction, and sustainable procurement.
  • Certifications: Experience with sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Key, ISO 14001) is a plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, engage with senior management, and influence change.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving change within the hospitality industry.
