Your role

Subregional Head of Security plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the Digital Realty's assets, ensuring compliance, and maintaining operational continuity. Reporting directly to the Subregional Director of Operations, with a dotted line to the EMEA Security Lead, this position is responsible for implementing strategic security initiatives, managing security operations, and overseeing physical security across the sub-region. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, as well as external stakeholders such as third-party suppliers, customers, and law enforcement agencies. By driving the strategic management of security budgets, optimizing resources, and ensuring alignment with global security policies, the Manager Security ensures the highest standards of safety and security are upheld across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Drive strategic security initiatives by supporting the Subregional Director of Operations and leading the country/sub-regional security team, ensuring alignment with global security strategies and objectives.
• Oversee the implementation of global security frameworks, policies, and corporate strategies across the country/sub-region, ensuring business continuity, risk mitigation, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
• Optimize resources through effective workforce allocation, security vendor management, and budget oversight, maintaining high security standards.
• Pro-actively engage with Subregional & EMEA Security Leads for policy alignment and ensure consistent global security practices.
• Coordinate and manage physical security within the country/Subregion, acting as the escalation point for security issues, and leading the implementation of training programs, audits, and inspections.
• Ensure adherence to all global safety and compliance policies within the country/sub-region.
• Accountable for the management and reporting on all aspects of physical security within the country/Subregion, coordinating efforts with regional and global teams.
  
  

What You’ll Need

• Extensive management in Security Management across multiple sites is essential
• Educated to relevant degree level and/or possessing ASIS CPP or equivalent certification.
• Demonstrable knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting the security role
• Demonstrable knowledge of security risk management
• Competence in threat, vulnerability and risk assessment
• Experience in managing security contractors.
• Good understanding of financial administration.
• Strong self-management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills across diverse audiences
• Strong conflict management ability
• Proactive approach with a strategic mindset.
• Ability to evaluate risk and solve complex problems effectively.
• Customer-focused with a strong emphasis on service excellence.
