What is the role about?
The Data Analytics team is responsible for, owning the Data Warehouse to enable an efficient IT infrastructure to meet the demands of a fast-paced Global Logistics Operations Center. creating reports, dashboards, and visual representations of data analysis findings to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making. Translating complex data into actionable insights and recommendations that can guide business strategies, improve operational efficiency, and optimize decision-making processes. This is a 2 year Fixed Term Contract aligned to acceptance on the academic programme.
Which tasks will you perform?
- Close collaboration with the G-LOC teams to understand business challenges and find solutions through data analytics.
- Running analysis projects and assessing processes based on data analytics
- Project Management in developing and setting-up IT infrastructure for Warehouse
- Support discussion and requirements among stakeholders and documenting requirements to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Assisting with acceptance integration/testing and developing project plans
- Facilitate regular calls for e. g. CIP and workshops
- Evaluation and monitoring of quality and plausibility of data
- Development and maintenance of processes and documentation
- Perform operational tasks related to the Data infrastructure: performance tuning, security, back-up, etc.
Any other duties commensurate with your skills and experience and as requested by your manager.

What do we expect from you?
- Graduates with a 2.2 honours degree at Level 8 in any discipline such as IT Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics (or other sciences), Data Analytics matched with relevant professional experience
- Proficiency in Tableau or other data visualization tools, with the ability to create insightful and impactful visualizations. Certification in Tableau (e.g., Desktop Specialist, Data Analyst) is a plus.
- Skills in SQL and machine learning are and advantage
- Proven experience of understanding data and building the bridge between IT know-how and business understanding, to transfer knowledge effectively between technical and business functions
- Proven ability to abstract and think analytically.
- Experience using problem solving skills to add value to the process
- Programming experience, familiarity with SQL and some data management and analysis software
Availability to travel internationally – Occasional requirement to travel internationally to support the needs of the team in meeting business objectives.

What can you expect from us?
- This programme is structured over two calendar years (September to August inclusive).
- On-the-job modules are structured to run over three semesters each with final deliverable submissions to coincide with the end of Semester 3 and Semester 6.
- Assessment of off-the-job modules comprises a combination of continuous assessment and terminal exams.
- On-the-job assessment is via an ongoing electronic portfolio of evidence in year 1 and a final project in year 2, with a probation/performance assessment period of 6 months.
- A two year contract is issued aligned to the duration of the Apprenticeship Programme
- Term time – 4 days at work / 1 day at college
- Non Term time – 5 days at work
Requirement to sit exams as scheduled by the college.
