The role
OCI Security Operations is looking for a talented leader to lead our security monitoring team in the European Union that is responsible for monitoring our cloud, health, and corporate environments within a sovereign boundary. As the leader of this team, you will drive the overall security monitoring strategy and standards for all Oracle environments in the EU. Your team will provide detection, triage, and investigation of all adverse security events. You will be responsible for 24x7x365 operations of a global team with personnel in multiple EU countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of security monitoring, response, service improvement, and threat hunting
- Lead, mentor, and provide career development across security operations staff in the EU
- Develop and deliver long term roadmap strategies for security monitoring and delivering security monitoring as a service for our customers
- Assist with the development of processes and procedures to improve system and service uptime, maintenance, and delivery
- Stay informed on security developments, including research industry trends, ongoing security threats, and new security tools
- Provide feedback to Oracle security product teams on the efficacy of their solutions
- Identify and improve meaningful security monitoring metrics
- Effectively communicate security concepts, asks, and wins with audiences consisting of both security experts and non-experts
- Establish, grow, and maintain a supportive and collaborative team culture across distributed time zones
- Develop hiring plans and strategic plans to build the team and improve efficacy of security operations
- Excel at executive communications, both written and oral
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Assurance, Security, Management Information Systems, Risk Management or equivalent work experience acceptable
- 5 years of Director level experience in cybersecurity operations at a cloud service provider
- Excellent written, verbal communications, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, and with external parties
- Experience managing various facets of red/blue/purple exercises
- Knowledge of current adversary TTP's and experience responding to APT attacks
- Understanding of security incident response processes and technologies
- Knowledge of security monitoring processes and technologies
- Proven ability to work and collaborate in a geographically dispersed, highly matrixed organization
- Experience with common EU regulatory frameworks and security standards
- Extensive knowledge of forensic tools and capabilities
- Experience coordinating threat hunt activities
- Experience leading a distributed security organization with 25 staff
- Experience working on a security team of 100 staff
- Security operations experience in an environment with regulated controls (Government, Military, Finance, etc)
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
