Role Purpose:
As Country Manager for Ireland, you’ll lead Riviera Travel’s trade activity across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This is a senior, field-based role responsible for achieving sales, revenue and distribution targets, while developing and managing key account relationships and identifying opportunities for new business growth.
You'll play a pivotal role in raising brand awareness, supporting agent partners with dedicated training and engagement initiatives, and executing regional marketing activity that delivers results.
Reporting into the Head of Trade & Partnerships – UK & Ireland, you’ll be a key member of the UK & Ireland Trade team, contributing to our ambitious growth plans and acting as the face of Riviera Travel in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a clear and actionable business plan for Ireland, aligning with company growth targets across revenue, passenger numbers and market share.
- Manage and grow key trade relationships, creating joint business plans and delivering exceptional account management.
- Identify, onboard and support new agent partners to expand our distribution footprint.
- Create and maintain a detailed contact plan, using a blend of in-person and virtual engagement.
- Design and deliver a structured training programme to ensure agents understand and are equipped to sell Riviera Travel’s unique selling points and new initiatives.
- Organise and host successful trade and consumer-facing events, including ship visits, FAM trips, and in-store activations.
- Deliver agent educational trips (e.g. river cruise ship day visits, full tours and fam trips), with post-event tracking to ensure ROI.
- Monitor competitor activity and share insights with the wider team, recommending actions as needed.
- Represent Riviera Travel at travel industry events, trade shows and exhibitions across Ireland.
- Track performance of all trade and marketing activities and assess impact against agreed KPIs.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in both key account management and new business development, ideally within the travel industry.
- A high sales drive, with a track record of delivering results and exceeding targets.
- A genuine passion for travel and a tenacious, can-do attitude
- Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of travel trends and profitability drivers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage audiences from one-to-one meetings to larger groups.
- Self-starter with excellent planning and organisational skills—able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other software applications, including CRM systems.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as part of the role (with time off in lieu).
- Must hold a full, clean driving licence.
