Our client has accumulated nearly 30 years of experience in engineering consultancy, providing civil engineering services through all stages of project delivery—from master planning through design and documentation, contract administration, and construction phases. Based in Cork, the company manages a diversified mix of projects.

Currently recruiting a Senior/Project Engineer in our client Cork office. You will work on a variety of projects, including commercial, retail, hotel, residential, educational, and industrial developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating within a team while liaising with clients, contractors, and design teams. Reporting to a Director, duties will include design, inspections, and coordination with team members and contractors.

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate designs into comprehensive construction drawings/information.
• Proven experience in leading civil engineering site development and construction projects (primarily residential projects ranging from 50 to 500 units).
• Knowledge of the Irish planning system, particularly in civil design.
• Expertise in drainage/utility/service design, including:
• Stormwater design
• Foul sewer design
• Watermain design
• Bulk earthworks & levels
• Traffic calming and signage (DMURS compliance within residential projects)
• Experience in preparing Planning & Construction Reports, including:
• Infrastructure Design Reports
• Drainage Impact Assessments
• Construction & Environmental Management Plans
• Operational Waste Management Plans
• Stage 1 Flood Risk Assessments
• Familiarity with sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) and general building drainage design.
• Membership in Engineers Ireland with a goal to achieve Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively and manage workload efficiently.
• Proficiency in planning and controlling technical resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Demonstrable knowledge of relevant Technical Guidance Documents.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and take responsibility for tasks.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• A full, clean Irish driving license.
