Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of personal support services to individuals with disabilities within Limerick city and county. This role will involve working closely with service users, personal assistants, and other stakeholders to ensure that services are delivered effectively, with a focus on quality and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the delivery of personal support services to individuals with disabilities in their own homes and community settings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with service users, their families, and care staff to ensure high-quality, person-centred service delivery.
- Schedule and oversee the work of personal assistants, ensuring alignment with service users' needs and goals.
- Monitor and evaluate service provision, ensuring that quality standards are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, utilising relevant software and apps to manage schedules and service data.
- Act as a point of contact for service users, responding to queries and addressing concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of services.
- Support the development of staff through training and mentoring.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- A third-level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Health and Social Care, Social Work, Healthcare Management).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the home care or disability sector, with a proven track record in coordinating services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in using sector-specific software and apps.
- Full, clean driving licence and access to reliable transport.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- A caring, patient, and motivated individual with a commitment to empowering people with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Desirable Attributes:
- Knowledge of the disability sector and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
- A passion for advocacy and promoting person-centred services.
- Experience in staff supervision and training.
