Position Summary:
1 Alpha Consulting is looking for an experienced Program Manager to serve as the primary contact for IT project operations, overseeing project governance, resource management, planning, and execution. This role is essential for ensuring that IT projects meet State requirements in terms of scope, timing, budget, and quality. The Program Manager will be responsible for driving project success through effective communication, risk management, and adherence to State standards and methodologies
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential project issues and risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate discussions and meetings between State agencies and contractors to maintain clear, open communication.
- Performance Oversight: Ensure project performance is within scope, consistent with requirements, and completed on time and within budget.
- Critical Path Management: Identify critical paths, tasks, key dates, testing, and acceptance criteria to maintain project momentum.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the application of State System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards to maintain quality and compliance.
- Efficiency Improvement: Develop solutions to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain or improve performance.
- Status Monitoring & Reporting: Track project issues, provide timely updates, and produce status reports and project-related artifacts as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is required.
General Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management.
Specialized Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience managing complex IT development projects.
- Proven track record of 3 successful projects involving organizational change management, with experience coordinating with diverse stakeholder groups.
- At least 5 years of experience utilizing PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) methodologies and artifacts.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and project governance abilities.
- Proficient in project planning, budgeting, and resource management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- High level of expertise in risk and issue management.
- Knowledge of State SDLC standards and ability to ensure project compliance.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
Pay is dependent on experience, negotiable.
Salary : $75,000 - $135,000
