Job Summary
The System Administrator is a vital member of our IT team, entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining, upgrading, and managing the organization's software, hardware, and network infrastructure. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of our technology systems. This role encompasses the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and software applications, alongside the management of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. The System Administrator ensures system reliability, performance, and security, implementing and managing robust security measures, and conducting regular security audits. Additionally, this position involves providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align IT operations with organizational goals. The role further includes the development and execution of backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and system availability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and system management tools.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of all systems and applications.
- Perform regular system updates and patch management.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and service records.
- Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and data encryption.
- Provide on-going support for internal SPI communications : VOIP and Email.
- Provide field support for all locations, some travel including weekends may be required.
- Interact with our Customer Service Team and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
- Monitor for security breaches and perform routine audits to ensure compliance with established security protocols.
- Monitor network to ensure optimal performance and to provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Work with MySQL resources.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and restore testing.
- Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades and new implementations.
- Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to meet organizational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
