A personal care aide (PCA) helps people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or age-related issues with their daily activities. They provide personalized assistance in a variety of settings, including the client's home, place of work, or a nonresidential facility.
Responsibilities
- Personal care: Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
- Housekeeping: Help with laundry, washing dishes, and vacuuming
- Meal preparation: Cook and feed patients, and modify food for easy swallowing
- Mobility: Help patients sit, stand, lay down, and walk
- Medication: Support with medication, such as reminding clients of medication schedules.
- Schedule and appointments: Help organize a client's schedule and plan appointments
- Emotional support: Provide emotional support and help promote mental wellbeing
- Reporting: Report changes in a client's physical condition, behavior, or appearance to a supervisor or case coordinator
- Record keeping: Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
