We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and manage end-to-end cloud solutions across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure. This role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS), Terraform, and cloud networking, with a strong emphasis on EKS networking and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud-native tools like Istio, Karpenter, and Backstage, combined with the ability to secure and optimize networking solutions, including Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and perimeter security.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud environments across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure, leveraging Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Lead cloud migration efforts, including transitioning from AWS CloudFormation to Terraform for IaC lifecycle management.
Design, configure, and secure Kubernetes clusters on EKS, GKE, and AKS, ensuring scalability, high availability, and adherence to best practices.
Configure and optimize EKS networking (e.g., VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, routing, security groups) and EKS security (e.g., IAM roles, encryption, audit logging).
Implement and manage service mesh solutions using Istio for traffic control, security, and observability.
Automate scaling and workload optimization using Karpenter to ensure cost-effective Kubernetes operations.
Establish robust cloud networking solutions, focusing on perimeter security, firewall configurations, and secure connectivity.
Deploy and monitor services using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and the ELK Stack to ensure performance and reliability.
Enhance developer workflows using Backstage for centralized application discovery, documentation, and onboarding.
Troubleshoot and optimize cloud-native services, including Elasticsearch, Lambda, RDS, and containerized workloads.
Qualifications
8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering with expertise in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
Advanced proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS).
Extensive experience with AWS networking (e.g., Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPC Peering) and security practices (e.g., IAM, KMS, NACLs).
Hands-on expertise with Istio for managing Kubernetes service meshes.
Proven track record of scaling and optimizing Kubernetes workloads with Karpenter.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native services, including Lambda, RDS, S3, Elasticsearch, and MSK.
Deep understanding of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK Stack) and incident management.
Experience automating tasks with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Practical experience with Backstage to enhance internal application management.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
Comprehensive understanding of database management (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS-SQL) in cloud environments.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and Azure service offerings.
