Title : Data Science Analyst

Location - Hybrid Richmond, VA (1 week onsite, 1 week remote, alternating) - Locals or 40-50 Miles

In this advanced level role, the Senior Data Science Analyst works independently on the most complex programs. Researches and applies knowledge from existing and emerging data science principles, theories and practices to identify and solve complex analytic problems using established procedures, tools and platforms. Conducts requirements gathering and design sessions and defines and documents the scope and objectives for the business use case/solution. Performs detailed analysis and feature engineering on data. Works at a high technical level in all phases of data analysis, design, development and support of analytic solutions including design and development of data structures, data integration processes and user interfaces to illustrate the analytical insights. Guides and/or leads less experienced Data Science Analysts analytic projects, as needed. Delivers oral briefs, presentations and insights from analysis performed or solutions developed. Tests, compares and validates the results from Machine Learning models before implementing the solution. Works company-wide, in multi-platform environments, on multiple project assignments.

Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Data Science using R/Python etc. on Hadoop platform
- Strong skills in statistical application prototyping with expert knowledge in R and/or Python development
- Design machine learning projects to address business problems determined by consultation with business partners.
- Work on a variety of datasets, including both structured and unstructured data.
- Deep knowledge of machine learning, data mining, statistical predictive modeling, and extensive experience applying these methods to real world problems
- Extensive experience in Predictive Modeling and Machine Learning: Classification, Regression & Clustering
- Understanding and experience working on Big Data Ecosystems : Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, Spark: pySpark, SparkR, SparkSQL, Jupyter & Zeppelin notebooks
- Understanding and/or Experience with data engineering is a plus
- Experience with cloud technologies(AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake) is big plus
- Create Interpretable visualizations that tell a story and paint a vision

Full Job Description
As an Engineer 2 you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.
This engineer position requires strong communication, teamwork, problem solving, analytical / innovative thinking and a customer focused mindset. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting issues, handling escalations, performing trend analysis, engineering solutions and identifying / implementing process enhancements to reduce and potentially eliminate recurring issues from the environment. You will work independently and as part of a team collaborating with internal teams, customers and vendors primarily administering Microsoft Teams, Teams Rooms, Teams Direct Routing and Operator Connect PSTN technology, and various endpoint technology.

Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or commensurate experience
Experience with AudioCodes phones
Experience with ATT API Marketplace
Experience managing and supporting analog gateways and associated cabling/connections
General understanding / knowledge of scripting (i.e. command line, PowerShell, etc.)
Splunk experience a plus
Working knowledge of JIRA
