We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to service rental equipment, (tools/ small Equipment) to join our clients team in Gonzales, LA for direct hire needs. As a Field Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of engine-driven equipment, such as welding machines, generators, light towers, air compressors, and more.
The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

Essential Duties:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engine equipment in the field
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and prevent future issues
- Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards
- Keep accurate records of all service and repair activities
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance needs
- Provide cost estimates for repairs promptly and submit them to sales for customer approval
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Other duties as assigned
- $25.00- 30.00 per hour
- 40 hours per week
- 8-hour days - Monday through Friday
- Rotating on-call shift - nights and weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in small engine repair is a plus
- Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines
- Familiarity with various small engine equipment brands and models
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to always pass a drug test and MVR
- Must be able to obtain site-specific safety requirements - i.e. safety counsel classes and on-site classes
