Badger Meter is looking for a first shift (6:30am-3:00pm) Assembler at our clean and air conditioned Milwaukee facility. This role is a part of our union and will start at $21.70.
This role oversees the assembly process for meters and meter reading technology products, including building, assembling, testing, injection molding, and packaging. Work is conducted through manual assembly, specialized equipment, or automated machinery. Team members rotate through various workstations within their department and may assist in other areas as needed based on workload and customer orders. Maintaining safe work practices and a clean workspace is essential.
Job Duties:
Assemble meters and registration units, perform leak and accuracy testing, and package finished products.
Operate equipment such as presses, screwdrivers, soldering irons, ultrasonic welders, and computer-based test systems.
Set up and operate accuracy and leak test equipment to validate product compliance.
Execute register assembly, sub-assembly, and testing for electro/mechanical units.
Assemble PC board units and sub-assemblies into register housings for specialty registration devices.
Use computers to check schedules, review part drawings, update job statuses, and follow work procedures.
Perform visual inspections using gauges and measuring tools to uphold quality standards.
Complete part counts, prepare identification tickets, and ensure proper handling of outgoing materials.
Work collaboratively across various production areas based on workload and customer demands.
Education and Experience:
High School Degree/GED preferred
0-1 years of related experience preferred
Qualifications:
Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training required
Basic proficiency with computers required
Basic skills in math required
Basic ability to read, write, and speak English preferred

Must be able to pass an audiogram test.
