What You Will Contribute:
Engineer II provides product support/sustaining engineering with minimal oversight. The includes but is not limited to performing product and design verification tests, assisting with defining test plans and production implementations, and participating in project teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Acts as a mentor to Engineer I.
Provides product support/sustaining engineering with minimal oversight
Perform product and design verification tests
Assists in defining test plans/production implementations
Writes procedures
Initiates and implements engineering change requests
Designs component/portion of a project
Participates actively on project teams (maybe a project lead)
May validate/audit/review procedures
Develops or provides input into projects: schedules, budgets, risks
Perform developing, designing, coding, and testing software products and features to enhance new or existing applications to meet user needs.
Performing project management functions for the assigned projects by providing a list of all tasks involved in those assignments, an estimate of each one's completeness, an estimate of the number of hours needed to complete the task, and the relationship between all such tasks.
Conducting research in software and computer technology for use in new product development and/or enhancing existing products.
Recommend upgrades for existing systems and programs. Debug the application and fix bugs.
Provide technical support in resolving advanced financial issues, external software development, and customers when software issues arise.
Investigate customer RMI issues as needed, present solutions to customers, gather their feedback and improve software based on it.
Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders (marketing, quality assurance, and tech support teams) to come up with the best solutions.
Travel to customer sites for product beta testing and investigation of customer issues as needed. (5-10%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years of related experience
Advanced skill level in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
Experience with MS Visual Studio Python, C#, Java, and JavaScript
Knowledgeable of software development concepts, processes, and tools.
Demonstrates strong initiative, motivation, appropriate judgment, and decision-making.
Assists in defining problems and causes and applies problem-solving techniques.
Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills, multitask, prioritize and work in a team environment.
Ability to work independently with little supervision, maintain open communication, and have positive working relationships with staff.
Experience with Elasticsearch, HTML, CSS, Pandas, AWS, TFS, React JS, GitHub, Jira, SQL queries, and SQL Server preferred (Preferred)
