In this crucial role, you'll maintain and operate production tooling to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. With your expertise in precision machining and problem-solving, you'll tackle challenging projects, working from intricate blueprints and collaborating across teams to achieve excellence. This will be a first shift role at our Milwaukee Headquarters.
The Tool & Die Maker's main function is to keep production tooling maintained and operational to ensure production needs are met to the highest quality level. Work will be subject to process and final inspection in accordance with Badger Meter’s quality management system and you will be responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area. Work will be subject to process and final inspection in accordance with Badger Meter ISO 9000 documentation.
Job Duties:
Plan, layout and perform required bench and machine operations to construct, alter and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
Communicate with supervisor his/her daily activities, anomalies in work areas, and unsafe conditions.
Work from complicated drawings, specifications or concepts.
Use a wide variety of precision instruments for exacting measurements.
Lay out work and plan machining/bench procedures and perform difficult machining operations requiring complicated setups which may involve improvising of tooling and machines for adaptations beyond the normal range in capacities of available equipment.
Set up and operate a variety of CNC mills, CNC EDM's and related CAD equipment machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
Perform critical bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and finish work.
Train apprentice Tool and Die Maker or other tool room personnel on a project basis.
Analyze molded parts to determine tool repair and adjustments required.
Operate related CAD/CAM equipment.
Education and Experience:
State indentured Tool and Die Journeyman's Card preferred
3 years of related experience desired
Qualifications:
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
Experience with Solidworks, Powermill, Electroworks, and CAD/CAM preferred
Basic math skills required

Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day
Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and complete an audiogram test
