Job Description Working on a telephone triage service responding to calls from parents when local pediatricians' offices are closed. Using symptom-based protocols to assess and advise regarding injuries and illnesses. Our ideal candidate comes with at least 5 years of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in emergency, urgent care, or pediatric primary care environments, and is available to work on-site during evenings and weekends. This position is not Remote and will be based at the Support Center in Atlanta GA. Hours are 5PM-11PM for Part-time and 5PM-1AM for Fulltime. Experience •1 year of RN experience; pediatrics highly preferred Preferred Qualifications •Bachelor of Science in Nursing -Previous experience in Emergency, Urgent Care, Primary care helpful Education •Graduation from accredited school of nursing Certification Summary •Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact •Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment •Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) within 1 year of employment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities •No minimally required knowledge, skills, or abilities Job Responsibilities PRACTICE (Caring for the Patient) 1.Performs nursing process across the continuum to deliver age and developmentally appropriate patient-family-centered care. 2.Integrates values and language preferences into healthcare delivery through a culturally sensitive process. 3.Utilizes clinical decision support tools and resources to recognize issues, prioritize care, and modify plan of care as needed. 4.Utilizes appropriate documentation tools to record, measure, and retrieve healthcare data. 5.Provides patient and family education appropriate for identified learning needs. 6.Utilizes resources to plan and provide nursing care that is safe, effective, and financially responsible. DEVELOPMENT (Fostering Clinical Knowledge) 1.Participates in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice. 2.Incorporates new knowledge into nursing practice to support desired outcomes. 3.Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competence and learning. 4.Self-evaluates professional practice in relation to performance, development, resiliency, and goals. 5.Takes action to achieve goals identified during performance review, resulting in change in practice and role performance. ENGAGEMENT (Engaging and Leading Professionally) 1.Provides oversight for nursing care given by unlicensed personnel while retaining accountability for patient care quality. 2.Engages in ethical practices utilizing principles from The Code of Ethics for Nurses. 3.Maintains therapeutic and professional relationships with appropriate role boundaries. 4.Contributes to a supportive and healthy work environment. 5.Consults, contributes to, and coordinates care with interdisciplinary healthcare team members. 6.Demonstrates investment in others through teaching/coaching/helper roles. 7.Demonstrates support of shared leadership through awareness of initiatives and providing input. OUTCOMES (Driving Excellent Results) 1.Integrates evidence and research findings into clinical judgement and nursing practice. 2.Participates in monitoring activities within work environment to maintain a culture of safety. 3.Identifies and communicates hazards and errors. 4.Participates in quality and process improvement activities to improve patient outcome and workflows. 5.Ensures equipment is in working order to provide safe patient care. 6.Demonstrates commitment and flexibility through times of change. PROFESSIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS 1. Completes orientation and Initial Assessment of Competency successfully by determined due date. 2. Completes mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements as defined by unit and system by due date. 3. 75% attendance at staff meetings, if applicable.
