$86,650.99 - $134,309.04The Director of Development will be responsible for raising over $750,000-$1.5M annually to advance the fundraising priorities of Albany Med. In this role the Director will identify, develop, and solicit individuals with the capacity to make gifts from $50,000 up to $1.5M. The Director will manage a blended portfolio of prospects who are grateful patients and families, community leaders, and Albany Medical College alumni both regionally and throughout the nation. A third and very important constituency includes the associated doctors, nurses and other staff of the Center who help with referrals and solicitations.- Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 prospective donors capable of making meaningful commitments to Albany Medical Center – this involves skills in qualification, strategic engagement, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Develop and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies designed to move prospects through the gift cycle which will build a pipeline to deliver an annual goal of $750,000-$1M.
- Conduct a minimum of 10 meaningful connections with prospects monthly with many of them face-to-face visits.
- Represent Albany Med in a priority region(s) by creating meaningful engagement and stewardship opportunities for major gift donors and/or potential donors. Engage volunteers to partner in growing philanthropy from major gift donors in a priority region(s).
- Prepare a variety of written correspondence which includes case statements, briefing materials, gifts proposals, acknowledgment letters, and stewardships reports.
- Coordinate engagement of senior leadership and volunteers in prospect strategies as appropriate (the CEO, Dean, Hospital Director, and COO, select Center Board members).
- Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and quality in all assignments. Engage in professional development activities and on-going education of Albany Med programs and priorities.
- Build a strong and collaborative relationship with the staff of the Alumni Association and college and hospital department contacts.
- Manage group and individual visits to Albany Med, small group programs and/or special events as appropriate.
- Manage administrative responsibilities by maintaining current prospect activity and proposal information utilizing the Raiser’s Edge database in a timely manner.
- Participate in special projects and assignments such as program development discussions, foundation strategy sessions, or developing marketing/messaging collateral as requested.
- Represent the Foundation at fundraising and Center events, in the community and among peer professionals in a manner that generates respect and goodwill.
- Adhere to the highest levels of professional conduct including appropriate attire, appearance, and behavior in the workplace and while representing Albany Med.
- Perform duties and responsibilities according to Albany Med Health System’s Code of Conduct and Employee Manual; be timely and accurate in all documentation and record-keeping; use good judgment when performing the functions of the job and interacting with colleagues and stakeholders; accept direction and respond professionally to achieve desired result; work cooperatively with others on our team and throughout the Albany Med Health System; adhere to Albany Med Health System’s policies, procedures and practices; and, utilize Albany Med Health System’s problem-solving processes for resolving grievances or disagreements.
