The Patient Access Authorization Specialist I has a skill set encompassing multiple facets of Patient Access. Knowledge encompasses the Patient Access Representative and Specialist preferably in the Apheresis/Infusion unit.
The Authorization Specialist I position is responsible for understanding billing and payer processes including complex concepts of billing and authorizations for Apheresis/Infusion treatment medications. In addition, working and monitoring daily reports and worklists is critical to ensure referrals and authorizations are submitted and obtained timely to ensure patients have treatments according to the treatment schedule ordered by provider.
