Ensure the timely and accurate collection and submission of payroll data to our home office to process our weekly payroll. Serve as the face of Human Resources for all initial concerns at the assigned plant. Provide administrative support for the TMX initiatives. Advance special TMX projects as assigned using skills, knowledge, and abilities gained through experience and education in the areas of: Performance Management, Employment Practices, and Hiring and Recruiting.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Recruiting, Hiring & Onboarding
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, attending job/career fairs, screening, interviews, and job offers.
- Conduct pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug screens, and assessments).
- Coordinate the selection and onboarding of new team members.
- Ensure all non-production team members have immediate access to system upon commencing duties (system, usernames, passwords, etc., etc.).
- Maintain job descriptions and hiring criteria for every position to align with company goals.
- Lead Training Coordinator/EHS Coordinator with New Team member Orientation.
- Track and report hiring data, trends, and effectiveness of recruitment efforts.
Payroll, Benefits & Leave Administration
- Ensure payroll processing accuracy, including adjustments and compliance.
- Manage all labor reclassification reporting to accountant.
- Manage monthly indirect incentive data, calculation and entries to Workday.
- Manage weekly production incentive data, calculation, and entries to Workday.
- Manage weekly D.M. incentive entries to Workday.
- Manage all unemployment compensation claims and inquiries
Facilitate Team member timecards via Workday/Dormakaba, tracking absences and PTO. - Assist with leave administration (FMLA, ADA, parental leave).
- Handle Team member benefits support and facilitate annual benefits enrollment meetings.
Process E-Verify, and employment verifications.
General Office/Admin
- Assist with segregation of duties requirements for processing mail and checks.
- Manage petty cash, checkbook, and accounting.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Screen policies and practices to ensure alignment with company and legal standards.
- Assist in creating and updating policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
- Support Team member relations investigations and respond to ethics and compliance hotline reports.
- Manage all personnel actions, including pay/bonus changes, title changes, and terminations.
- Track and analyze key HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and attendance.
Engagement, Wellness & TMX Initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership to align HR programs with the company’s vision for world-class engagement.
- Partner with the TMX Coordinator to support wellness, VTO, and engagement programs.
Serve as a key participant in special TMX projects and initiatives. - Assist in developing strategies to enhance the overall team member experience.
Training & Development Support
- Work with the Training Coordinator to schedule and coordinate orientation programs.
- Assist in planning leadership development workshops and training initiatives.
- Support performance management processes, including Team member evaluations and coaching.
- Ensure training compliance for job skills, safety, and company protocols.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required
- Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems and/or Workday.
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
- Trustworthy – capable of handling and maintaining highly confidential information.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Able to adhere to tight deadlines.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with all levels in the organization.
- Knowledge of all HR “acronym” components related to employment law and relations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 year degree in HR or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a human resources role with progressive duties around employee relations, recruiting, benefits, compensation and/or training required.
- 3 years’ experience with computerized payroll processing.
- 3 years’ experience in a human resource role preferred.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
- Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment.
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
Travel Requirements
- As needed, up to 10%.
