Job Summary Directs the daily activities of the site security force in performing access control, search functions, owner-controlled area monitoring, and response readiness. Has primary responsibility as the Response Team Leader (RTL) during contingency events. Supervises security activities to maintain compliance with Federal Regulations, Security / Contingency Plans, and Training & Qualification Plans. Manages and coaches employees, monitors individual performance, and takes corrective actions. Reviews and submits logs, journals, and reports. Plans daily work schedule to include assignment of personnel. Conducts and documents training drills with individual team members. Maintains skills and knowledge associated with security posts, responses, CAS/SAS operations, and contingency events. Serves as the Security Shift Captain in their absence, assuming responsibility for the entire security shift and coordinating security activities with various other groups, specifically Operations and Station Management. This position reports directly to the Security Shift Captain. Responsibilities Supervises Security activities to maintain compliance with Federal Regulations, Security/Contingency plans and Training and Qualification (T&Q) Plans. • Reportability determinations in the absence of the Shift Captain • Conducts post qualifications and re-qualifications, ensure that physicals are scheduled, and physical fitness testing is conducted as required by procedure. • Interface with Local Law Enforcement, FBI, NRC, and Federal Aviation Authorities in the absence of the Shift Captain • Conducts Job Observations • Direct Security Activities during routine and contingency events in the absence of the Shift Captain. Directly responsible for Access Control area, and the Owner Controlled Area. Manage and coach employees, monitor individuals performance and take corrective actions. • Conduct Performance Appraisals for non-exempt Security Shift personnel, Performance Improvement Plans and evaluate performance of Security Drills. • Administer and recommend personnel corrective actions • Conduct pre-job and post job briefs • Address conflict issues on their team between team personnel • Address conflict issues with other groups Reviews and submits logs, journals, blotters, and reports • Initiates corrective action program items and reviews deficiency reports pertaining to Security issues and concerns, along with writing requests/orders • Reviews, submits, and acts upon Shift turnover log, Security Journal, blotter, and Safeguards Event Log • Reviews and approves Security equipment testing procedures • Completes Drill documentation • Approves Team expense reports for assigned personnel, approves timesheets, and authorizes overtime Plan daily work schedule to include assignment of Shift personnel • Reviews and develops schedules to ensure accuracy and proper assignment rotations occur • Ensure all Officers are properly qualified prior to them assuming post • Monitor work hours to ensure compliance with company policy and fatigue order requirements and regulations • Evaluate personnel regarding FFD requirements and expectations • Conducts pre-job and post briefs0 Coordinate with supervisors, managers, outside agencies (both local and federal) and other sections/groups to meet team, group, station, and federal requirements as directed by the Shift Captain or in the absence of the Shift Captain • Attend Shift management meetings to determine Security work and staffing needs of the Shift • Update Station management on Security events • Coordinate with Station groups such as Operations, Radiation Protection, and Maintenance when compensatory measures will be necessary during their work processes and ensure the proper establishment of those compensatory measures • Maintain contact with LLEA and other authorities during contingency situations • Reports suspicious activity to the NRC Operations Center, Federal Aviation Administration, and FBI as required by regulations Documents and conducts training drills with individual team members and the Shift as a whole • Conducts and evaluates training drills • Conducts readiness drills with Team members • Leads Team drills on a quarterly basis (command and control) • Serves as a Drill controller and evaluator on other Security Teams Maintains skills and knowledge associated with security posts, responses, CAS/SAS operations, and contingencies • Conducts training and evaluation • Conducts job observations • Directs the team during contingency events • Maintains adequate procedural knowledge • Maintains physical fitness and firearms qualifications Required Qualifications • High School/GED degree • In addition to required degree, 2 years related work experience Desired Qualifications Bachelors degree Leadership Development Program Priority consideration will be given to those currently working as a fully trained and qualified armed responder Comprehensive knowledge of Nuclear Security Requirements Good working knowledge of procedures, regulations, and programs within Nuclear Strong Leadership skills with ability to speak and write in a clear and concise manner Ability to pass Radiation Worker Training and Plant Access Training Travel Requirements 5-15% Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable) No Represented/Union Position No Visa Sponsored Position No Posting Expiration Date Wednesday, September 27, 2023 All job postings expire at 12:01 AM on the posting expiration date.
