Engineer

Conagra Brands - Menomonie, WI producer of Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa and Swiss Miss/Snack Pack Pudding/Gels, is looking for a Project Engineer. Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, you will review engineering requirements to determine and design technical and business solutions for projects that require capital investment. You will also be responsible for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, determine system requirement success criteria, and select equipment that meets the best cost, schedule, and performance needs to meet required quality and safety standards.

Position Responsibilities

• You will communicate with multiple team members (e.g., Operations, Finance, EHS, ME, Packaging design, Brand, and OBD), external interaction including equipment vendors, construction contractors, engineering services contractors, and co-manufacturing organizations.
• You will work with partners to ensure mutual understanding of system performance and product quality.
• You will provide technical leadership on projects.
• You will prepare or secure and review cost estimates, compile required cost and equipment information, and write appropriation requests.
• You will analyze engineering requirements to determine and design technical and business solutions for projects that require capital investment.
• You will develop Front-End-Loading packages (FEL's) that are complete and concise, and reflecting due diligence to ensure project success.
• You will develop subject matter expertise of the packaging principals and operating systems for assigned areas.

Position Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Packaging Engineering (with emphasis on equipment), or Agricultural Engineering
• You will have practical experience of 2 years in food manufacturing and food packaging system design.
• You have proficiency using Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), PowerPoint, and Project)

Compensation: 

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
