What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at 1000 North?
As a host, you are the first person the guest sees when they walk in the door and it is your job to make them feel welcome. The host immediately greets guests at the door, seats, and presents menus in a professional and prompt manner. Excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure are essential.
Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Greets and escorts guests to their table
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the menu
- Basic knowledge of the membership program and it’s members.
- Answer phone calls and respond to basic inquiries and take reservations
- Knowledge of the restaurant operations (hours, location, general information, etc.)
- Knowledge of table numbers, manage names on a waiting list and communicate wait to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
- Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
- Communicate with servers to ensure smooth transition of tables and even distribution of guests throughout the restaurant
- Interact with guests when they come in and as they leave the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience
*Compensation is based on experience
