Position Details: Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 16 Department: Radiation Oncology GHS Overview of Position: Responsible for accurately administering photon and electron radiation and assisting in brachytherapy procedures under the direction of the radiation oncologist, and in accordance with department policies. Performs simulations, constructs shielding blocks, accurately documents duties performed, and participates in various quality assurance activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Accurately administers radiation therapy treatments in accordance with prescription and instructions given by the radiation oncologist. 2. Performs simulations in preparation of radiation therapy treatments 3. Uses proper documentation to verify patient’s treatment and orders followed through. 4. Participates in the assessment of patient needs. 5. Effectively and safely operates all imaging, therapeutic and related medical equipment competently. 6. Assumes “on-call” status as necessary during off-hours for emergency procedures. 7. Prioritize work in order to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. 8. Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families. 9. Demonstrates a willingness and interest to cross train in other areas to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency. 10. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Completion of an AMA accredited Radiation Therapy Program. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (RTT). 2. Licensed in the State of Ohio in Radiation Therapy (LRTT). 3. CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of employment. 4. Excellent planning and organization skills. 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills 6. Solid mathematical, problem-solving and computer skills. 7. Ability to follow direction instructions in order to provide patient care in an expedient, precise, professional and caring manner. 8. Demonstrates and maintains an understanding of tools and resources used to complete work efficiently and effectively. 9. Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
