JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary:
The Senior Materials Analyst is responsible for the management of material, transportation, and inventory needs of two customers on the DT Program. Managing inventory, freight, and ensuring on time delivery to these two customers is essential in this role.
The Senior Materials Analyst will also analyze our plants entire freight spend weekly, monthly, and yearly. Along with forecasts and continuous improvement initiatives.
Senior Materials Analyst Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedules and monitors movement of material through production cycle.
- Manage demand, production scheduling and customer service to multiple customers/products.
- Provide backup support to current Master Schedulers, including vacation backfill
- Establishes supply chain parameters to drive 100% on time delivery of requirements with appropriate inventory levels to protect against variation
- Formularizes weekly forecasts and sales/operations planning data
- The employee is expected to perform other duties as necessary for the effective operation of the department.
- Cycle count parts assigned to you and ensure all documentation follows the Adient cycle count process.
- Report out to finance weekly freight accrual and forecast
- Manage freight KPIs in weekly indicators meeting
- Provide over/under analysis on all freight to see if we are meeting weekly targets
- Perform annual freight 12 month forecast and adjust forecast throughout the year as volumes change
- Manage all freight exceptions and corrections to ensure correct billing
- Oversee scrap trailer and recycling efforts at the plant
- Support damages to trailers or freight investigations
- Manage trailer lot KPIs and escalations
- Oversee Premium freight compliance and root causes
- Support and lead continuous improvement ideas in freight and inventory management
- Plant super-administrator for Yard Management System, Trailer Utilization System, and Surgere
- Lead the shipping/receiving office ensure processes are followed each day, audit the team regularly
- Set schedule for shipping and receiving clerks along with approving their timecards
- Supervise (4) direct reports and perform semi-annual and annual performance reviews
- Updated Fuel surcharge (FSC) monthly in freight outlook
- Manage the schedule variation of customer schedule changes and recovery of premium freight costs as required
- Manage and monitor the activities of subordinates' accuracy and integrity of all materials related to record keeping.
- Monitor and measure supplier performance to ensure compliance with established quality and delivery standards.
- Maintain excellent customer relations including supplier delivery performance.
- Review the job performance of each subordinate so that employee training and development may be utilized per Company policy.
- Document and manage supplier delivery performance which includes on time delivery, shipment accuracy, packaging issues, etc.
- Conformance to all BOS and IATF requirements applicable to the position.
- Maintain compliance of all Company customs processes and procedures.
- Weekly/monthly events such as plant wide meeting, pre-Shift meeting, department meetings, and training exercises.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree required. Bachelors degree in supply chain management preferred
- Two year’s experience in inventory management preferably in Automotive Industry
- Prior Tier 1 JIT experience a plus
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Application including Excel
- Experienced with ERP systems (QAD preferred), and WMS
