Bloom Energy is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to create demand for the product portfolio, solutions, and services through effective messaging and marketing programs. This role will report to Senior Global Director, Product Marketing and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.
Role:
- Market Strategy: The PMM serves as a liaison between product management /engineering and the sales, marketing and business development teams, filtering and discerning from both internal and external customers, the growth potential and future direction of the Energy Server product and solutions. The PMM will take this knowledge and develop a product marketing plan for the portfolio that aligns with the Bloom Energy growth initiatives, target markets and Product Managements roadmaps and program launch plans. The PMM owns the development and execution of the product marketing plan for the portfolio. The PMM identifies potential gaps in product offering, both against competition and new market opportunity and helps prioritize or pivot activities to match the market dynamics.
- Marketing program guidance: The PMM works in conjunction with their product manager/lead engineer, program manager and marketing teams to execute any new product launches, which includes but not limited to sales training, launch materials, demos, collateral and all messaging related to the product for the various industries in which the product is being sold.
- Product Collateral: The PMM owns all external facing product related material, including specifications, brochures, application guides, white papers, case studies and technical articles. The PMM also is the author or editor and ultimate approver for all customer facing technical documentation
- Supporting Sales: The PMM will work with their marketing counterparts to create effective training materials, compelling product and solution presentations, and captivating demonstrations. The PMM works closely with sales to make sure the sales team has what they need to tell the right story to the right audience by segment, industry, and geography to generate orders and help Bloom Energy meet the orders plan for the portfolio.
- Supporting Product Management/Engineering: The PMM participates in the business' multi-generational product plan and supports the vision and the roadmap by understanding the market and getting voice of customer from the various ‘customer facing’ teams, in order to help the product manager build an effective, relevant and up-to-date product roadmap.
- The PMM servers as a market expert when reviewing and contributing to product customer collateral and key messaging.
- The PMM often co-owns the technical and market specifications for the product to ensures the documents are kept up to date, easy to understand, easy to locate and has marketing approval for branding per company guidelines.
- The PMM supports their product manager/engineer for all commercial facing activities, including input on pricing, competitive landscape, market trends and analysis and creating user stories that help amplify success stories.
- The PMM continuously develops product management processes and tools to ensure all the collateral associated with their product is correctly classified, securely stored, regularly updated, and organized in a way that it is easy to find by all functions. This includes any collaboration required to create or change a process, update any links, and/or communicate any changes to stakeholders.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of energy/power delivery markets, renewables, or fuel cell technology and applications highly preferred. Candidate should have strong technical aptitude and exceptional communication skills as well as experience working across multiple functions toward a common goal.
- 10 years of product marketing, product management, sales or engineering in the power systems sector (Preferably fuel cells)
- Ability to communicate customer value to a broad set up customer types and industry segments
- Technical understanding of power distribution industry and micro-grid preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Successful working collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Product Management.
- Subject matter expertise in the clean technology, energy, distributed generation and/or fuel cell products, solutions, and power market segments
- Understanding of how technical solutions and products are sold within various channels to market
- Up to 25% Travel
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. (electrical, chemical or materials engineering preferred)
