The Strategy and Business Development Senior Advisor provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Strategy and Business Development matters, often requiring coordination between key internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Advisor will report to the Senior Director, Strategy and Business Development for the PBM. The Senior Advisor will participate in the development and enablement of strategic business initiatives, special projects, competitive analysis, and analysis of business opportunities.
Essential Functions:
- Manages large cross-divisional or PBM-wide programs or processes.
- The internal and external projects that the Senior Advisor will support will drive significant value for the PBM. Ensure projects meet requirements regarding compliance, quality, strategy alignment, schedule and cost.
- Effective project management: uncovering internal and external stakeholder insights through effective questioning; critical thinking and problem-solving; disseminating data and information to partners
- Focuses on providing thought leadership, technical expertise and competitive intelligence across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex Strategy and Business Development assignments.
- The position must have an in depth understanding of the company's various businesses and business processes and the competitive landscape. Creates presentation materials and presents complex and challenging business issues to operational management and business unit heads.
- Supports agenda development and coordination for key senior leadership meetings with PBM Chief of Staff (eg. Leadership Off-Sites, ELT-level presentations, weekly leader calls, Town Halls, etc)
- Partners with peer roles across the enterprise on initiatives impacting the PBM and global issues, meets regularly with peers to update one another on division-specific initiatives and problems that could impact more than their sole division.
- Work with cross functional area leads to ensure new processes are successfully socialized and adopted.
- Conduct analyses to identify business use cases, capability requirements, and digital, technology & data dependencies to support the our key strategic initiatives.
- Interpret business feedback and results to succinctly create compelling recommendations and solutions for senior leadership sponsorship and buy-in.
- Builds effective meeting materials (power point, financial analysis, written analysis, etc) to support the development and execution of business plans, strategy and PBM leadership operating model.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Communications, Marketing or other related field preferred.
- At least 5 years' of experience in healthcare analytics and/or business strategy
- Experience in corporate strategy, data and analytics strategy, general consulting and/or other related fields with a history of demonstrated business success (healthcare and pharmacy experience preferred)
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop sophisticated quantitative analyses and synthesize the results into implications and communicate recommendations to senior leadership
- Experienced in developing and analyzing complex financial models and other quantitative assessments including KPIs, ROI, P&L, etc.
- Proven business acumen with experience researching marketing trends and consumer insights, category analysis, competitive benchmarking, etc.
- Experienced in networking successfully across a large company by building trust, making decisions, focusing on stakeholder needs, continuously improving and building talent
- Strong project management skills are necessary
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of shaping messages appropriately for a senior-level audience and proficiency using MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint (strong PPT skills are a must!)
