Riverside Health Medical Group is currently seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Riverside Urology Specialists in Newport News, Virginia.
About the position:
Hospital based role with inpatient coverage responsibilities.
7 days on/7 days off, 12-hour shifts
Collaborative work environment, joining our experienced, board-certified urologists.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessment, including patient history and physical examination
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with urologist.
- Assist in preoperative and postoperative care of patients undergoing urological procedures and surgeries.
- Provide patient education on urological health, disease, prevention, treatment options and lifestyle modifications.
- Prescribe medications and treatments according to protocols and within the scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards.

Education:
· Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Required:
- Meet comprehensive and professional standards.
- Have a current, valid state of Virginia medical license or be eligible for one.
- Have a valid DEA controlled substance registration.
Skills:
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Collaborative approach with other physicians and providers
· Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
· Ability to provide guidance to other medical staff
· The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
· Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care
· Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions
· Basic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare population
· Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
· Excellent communication skills
