Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a Full Time Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at RMG Cardiology Specialists in Newport News, VA.

In this role we are seeking the following: an Advanced Practice Provider to work inpatient/outpatient Monday through Friday with our Structural Heart/EP Physicians, with weekends scheduled as needed. Prior cardiology experience preferred and/or prior extensive cardiac nursing background; Knowledge regarding pre/post care for TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, PFO/ASD procedures preferred; knowledge/experience with associated registries.

Nurse Practitioner- Masters in Nursing

Nurse Practitioner License 

Nurse Practitioner certification

* For Hospital rounding roles: Nurse Practitioner certification- FNP must have a subspecialties  in Cardiology

Physician Assistant - Master Degree

Physician Assistant License

Required

· Meet comprehensive and professional standards 

· Have a current, valid state of Virginia medical license or be eligible for one

· Have a valid DEA controlled substance registration 

Skills

Qualifications

· Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care

· Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions

· Basic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare population

Scope of Practice

Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies

Performs thorough physical examinations and assessments

Assessment of health status

Formulate patient care plans

Performing Pulmonology consultations

Provides counseling to patients about their care

Prescribe tests and treatments / analyze the tests and treatments

Document findings

Basic computer skills
