Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Clinical Dietitian for our Cancer Center who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Clinical Dietitian, you will:
• Assess patients' nutritional needs through medical history evaluation, dietary analysis, and physical examinations.
• Understand how cancer treatment impacts nutritional needs.
• Conducts individual sessions to discuss patient’s nutritional needs and determine risk factors. Confers with physician and other clinicians as appropriate on effect of nutritional status
• Develops nutritional plan for patient and presents individualized information about recommended dietary change and behavioral modifications to ensure implementation of set goals.
• Develop individualized nutrition plans based on patients' medical conditions, dietary restrictions, and goals.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to establish integrated treatment plans and ensure coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications.
• Evaluate and effectively explain a patients’ body composition analysis and metabolic testing results.
• Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting diet plans as needed.
• Collaborates with various clinics to receive referrals and provide quality whole-person care by consulting with patients care team on specific nutrition problems and issues.
• Conduct nutrition research and stay up to date with the latest scientific findings in the field of dietetics.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of nutritional care protocols and guidelines.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by relevant regulatory bodies and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Effectively utilize counseling techniques to inspire patients to continue to take steps towards better health and working to hold themselves accountable.
Qualifications include:
• Registered Dietician with an active MD state license
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, Master’s degree preferred
• Board specialty certification in oncology nutrition preferred
• Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Certified Diabetes Educator is preferred
• (1) One to (2) two years of experience in a healthcare setting as a dietician is preferred
• Current CPR through American Heart Association
Work Schedule:
Employee is expected to split their time between Aquilino Cancer Center and White Oak Cancer Center. The position's hours are normal business.

Pay Range:
$30.53 - $44.27In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
