Overview:
As a lab technician, you will play a multi-function role that supports engineering projects through conducting tests, collect data under guidance, and installation/maintenance/repair of electronic equipment and systems. Your role will involve working closely with engineers and other team members to ensure the successful completion of tasks while maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to conduct experiments, collect data, or develop solutions for complex electronic problems. Perform routine maintenance/calibration of electronic equipment for optimal performance Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Repair or replace defective components or parts in electronic systems requiring good soldering skills. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including handling of hazardous materials and adherence to electrical safety standards. Participate in the assembly, installation, and configuration of electrical systems and components in laboratory settings. Stay updated on advancements in electronic technology and techniques through training and professional development.
Requirements:
Associate degree or equivalent certification in electronics or a related field Proven experience as an electronics technician or similar role. Strong understanding of electronic principles and components. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using electronic testing equipment, such as multimeters, power supplies, signal generators and oscilloscopes. Experience with soldering Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with team members, documenting procedures, and reporting results. Physical dexterity and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Plus:
Industry certifications, such as Certified Electronics Technician (CET) or Certified Electronics Associate (CEA). Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software for circuit design and simulation. Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C , labview or Python for test automation and data analysis.
