Position Title: Qualified Medication Aide (QMA)
Location: 1019 Belle's Place, Bedford, IN

Overview:
1019 Belle's Place of Bedford is a community offering independent living and housing with services, designed to support our residents in living vibrant, fulfilling lives. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to provide medication reminders and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting residents' independence. Preferred candidates will also hold insulin certification to further enhance resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide scheduled medication reminders to residents to ensure adherence to prescribed medication plans.
- Offer gentle encouragement and guidance to residents during medication times, respecting their independence.
- Assist with insulin reminders and support for residents who are self-administering insulin (preferred certification required).
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, bathing, and mobility support, as needed.
- Observe residents for any changes in condition and report concerns to appropriate team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medication reminders, ADL assistance, and resident interactions.
- Foster strong, trusting relationships with residents and their families.
- Support residents with additional care services as needed, while promoting their autonomy.
- Uphold the community’s commitment to maintaining a respectful and supportive environment for all residents.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) in the state of Indiana.
- Preferred insulin certification or experience assisting residents with diabetes management.
- Previous experience in independent living, housing with services, or similar settings is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures while respecting residents’ rights to independence.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move items or assist residents as needed.
Work Environment:
The QMA will work in a supportive, resident-focused environment that values independence while providing necessary services. Some evening or weekend shifts may be required based on resident needs.
