Position Summary: As a Quality Manager, you will be an integral part of the business leadership team and will play a pivotal role in leading all aspects of quality, directly and indirectly. You will be responsible for driving a culture of quality excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices to deliver superior products and services to our customers. Through leadership, strategy, collaboration, improvement goals, and process continuous improvement, you will be responsible for ensuring all Clayton Homes quality targets are achieved within your business. Collaboration and internal partnership with various functions, specifically operations leadership and Home Office teams, will be critical for the individual in this role.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the implementation and management of the Q-Built Quality Management System (QMS) across the facility, including governance over data collection, traceability, and analysis.
- Be the Voice of the Customer by building B2B relationships and connecting with retail customers and all stakeholders to resolve all quality concerns.
- Participate and/or lead problem resolutions that impact your business or across the Home Building Group.
- Uphold safety, customer satisfaction, plant output and budget performance in order to meet/exceed expectations.
- Drive the strategy, architecture, and development of the business solutions relating to a scalable Quality Managements System
- Improve Quality culture in the facility by working with TMX team to establish training methods focused on quality with new team members.
- Work with Quality Leadership to implement the Q-Built Quality Management System, with clear Quality metrics and processes in alignment with corporate standards.
- Develop and implement Quality focused continuous improvement events in the plant or in partnership with other businesses across the Home Building Group.
- Lead the QBuilt team to act as auditors of compliance to QMS procedures and quality assurance standard process documentation.
- Create and deliver programs to address quality issues with materials.
- Work with Director of Facilities & Maintenance Engineering & Process Engineering to identify capital investment opportunities for quality and capability improvements across the production network.
- Support plant leadership teams on the development and execution of plans to minimize production costs through effective use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital expenditures.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Business or Technical Discipline.
- 5-7 years of Quality Management and/or Process Improvement in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Experience with BRC Certifications or other 3rd party quality audit certifications.
- Ability to travel 20-30% of the time
- Excellent Microsoft Office capabilities, including Excel.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong data analysis skills a must.
- Knowledge of LEAN principles and experience implementing LEAN processes.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
- Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
