Job Title: Lead Respiratory Therapist Department: Unity Respiratory Therapy Location: Unity Hospital Hours Per Week: 36 hours Schedule: Night 3x12 hour shifts 630pm to 7am Every other weekend rotation Sign- On Bonus: up to $15,000 SUMMARY The Lead Respiratory Therapist functions as a working shift resource, provide direct oversight, assistance, support, and problem resolution to Respiratory Staff during assigned shift in all aspects of respiratory care, including organization of, assignment and coverage of workloads. Provide superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values. Each of the hospitals of Rochester Regional Health provides a full range of diagnostic, treatment and educational services to persons with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Special emphasis placed on pulmonary health promotion and disease prevention. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for all essential functions listed for the Registered Respiratory Therapist. Possess, maintain, and deliver high clinical standards in the assessment, administration, education, and observation of respiratory therapy as ordered by Providers. Provide direct oversight, assistance, support, and problem resolution to Respiratory Staff during assigned shift in all aspects of respiratory care, including organization, assignment, and coverage of workloads. Responsible for resolving call offs during shift and making appropriate actions to assure adequate staffing levels for following shift. Responsible to take call in a regular rotation and appropriately address any issues that may present. Provides coverage in absence of department leadership or for other Senior Therapists. Assist in current and continuing education and development of the Respiratory Therapists, including a continued and annual competency program and new employee orientation. Actively supports and participates with clinical content and presentation of regularly scheduled intradepartmental meetings. Assist in development and implementation of clinical care policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensure consistency in the application of those objectives. Assist in the on-going evaluation, in-servicing, and purchasing of both new and existing equipment and supplies, providing input into departmental selection and function to ensure appropriate usage, inventory, and cost effectiveness. Assist with respiratory rotations and clinical observations from multiple agencies and disciplines, including but not limited to respiratory, nursing, emergency response, exploring, and high school programs. Responsible to actively chair, develop, organize, oversee, and track one intradepartmental respiratory committee, as well as serve on one additional intradepartmental committee. Participates on interdepartmental committees as requested by Respiratory Leadership. REQUIRED QUALIFICTIONS: Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate is required Recent acute care experience 2 years previous full time critical care experience in respiratory care is required; part time and per diem experience will be pro-rated to determine eligibility. New York State Respiratory Therapist (RT) license with current registration Current NBRC RRT credential is required for all Respiratory Therapist entering the field after 9/1993 PREFFERED QUALIFICTIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred. EDUCATION: AS LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $38.11 - $49.44 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14626 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
