General Expectations:
Forklift operators are responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas and work centers.
Duties /Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with Shipping/Receiving Area Coordinator and Materials Manager
- Loading, unloading of materials
- Maintains quality expectation of documentation and reports accordingly
- Transports raw material to production workers
- Maintains daily logs and report shortages
- Inspect equipment
- Performs other duties as required by management
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with team.
- Attention to detail.
- General building material knowledge.
- Ability to read and write effectively all job-related functions.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Must be able to assist in maintaining lumber/rafter yard and sheds with proper housekeeping skills.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of continuous experience of forklift operation.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must have patience and work well under pressure
- Must be flexible with working hours and duties.
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity. Has a strong work ethic.
- Displays a great attitude and models teamwork, assisting other forklift operators in every department.
Education & Qualifications:
- Preferred forklift experience.
- Able to pass forklift operator’s driving assessment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
- 100% of work to be performed in an outdoor environment subject weather, noise, and dust.
- This position is crucial to the efficient operation of the facility. Applicant must understand the challenge to replace a forklift operator when absent.
