Director of Applications and Customer Enablement

We are looking for an exceptional scientist to lead the team responsible for Applications and Customer Enablement (ACE). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing teams of scientists execution. This person needs to be a strategic thinker on the biological and technical utility of 10x products and the larger life sciences tools market.

What You Will Be Doing

Engaged in experimental design, execution and computational analysis of high-dimensional single-cell and spatial genomics data, with strong grounding in 10x Genomics products. The candidate must combine impressive technical leadership, excellence in people management, a strong drive for supporting great products, and commitment to the highest standards. The candidate will develop and oversee projects for extending the application space of 10x products and execute on content generation (e.g. preprints and publications, application notes, demonstrated protocols, datasets, webinars)

• Lead interactions with key customers around utilizing 10x products to further their research programs including early access interactions and limited off-label uses.
• Be a subject matter expert in cases of advanced technical support and large scale collaborations
• Contribute to the roadmap of commercial products, on market and in development, crafting leadership messaging and supporting data for launch of key products
• Lead or contribute to scientific engagement via publications, conference attendance and user group meetings, both individually and in a coordinating capacity.
• Attract and develop world-class talent focused on demonstrating and developing new applications of 10x products.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and computational biologists, and oversee cross-functional teams working on key deliverables
  
  

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need

• PhD or proven, significant depth of experience in biology, genomics, or a related field
• Experience managing teams of scientists from a variety of backgrounds
• Detailed understanding of how single-cell and spatial genomics tools are used across life sciences, pharmaceutical research and in a translational/clinical research setting
• A strong desire to build game-changing technologies and impact the world of life science research
• Demonstrated experience in defining, planning and executing projects with cross-functional teams
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills, in both internal and external facing contexts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  
  

Below is the base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program. $233,200—$315,400 USD
