About The Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the hardware engineering department for the Summer of 2025 at our 10X Genomics headquarters in Pleasanton, CA.
The hardware engineering group is responsible for the design, build, and test of 10x’s consumer, and some of its internal instruments from R&D prototypes to manufacturing pilot builds. Most recently our group has shipped CytAssist and the industry leading Xenium Analyzer. We are currently looking for an outstanding intern to join our electrical engineering team for a 12-week summer internship to work on cutting edge research projects.
Ideal candidates are ambitious, intelligent, and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency. You are just as comfortable wielding a soldering iron to testing complex electrical circuits. You have a passion for tinkering and hands-on work in a lab, while also enjoying data analysis. This is an ideal opportunity for rising senior undergraduates or 1 year graduate students who are curious about what life beyond the ivory tower (i.e. life in industry) looks like!

What You'll Do
You will work on the product development from circuit design to board layout and system integration and testing. The key responsibilities include
- System/Board Design
- Circuit Layout
- Board Testing and Automation
- Graduate/upcoming graduate of a technical degree or certification program from a Community College or 4-year University.
- Open to recent graduates or those in the final year of a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, or holders of equivalent academic certifications.
- Proven understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and technical analytical skills
- Have completed at least one board design project.
- Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuits design principles and concepts.
- Hands-on experience with using of DMM, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers etc
- Schematics design tool familiarity such as Orcad, Altium, Allegro etc
- Knowledge of signal and power integrity concepts
- Familiarity with Altium Design Tool
- Python language based automation
