CT Department Tech Assistant - Per Diem (Evening Shift)

About the Job:
As an integral part of the Imaging team, provides clerical and communication support integrating medical knowledge, clerical skills, staff and patient interaction, and care. A department assistant recognizes conditions essential for successful completion of patient processing and exercises independent professional and ethical judgment.
What You’ll Do:
- Assists in the transportation of patients throughout the Radiology department, including CDU and Emergency Department.
- Assists in patient positioning, including lateral transfers to and from stretchers.
- Assists in the preparing the CT suite by cleaning, stocking, and setting up for exams.
- Communications utilizing phone and paging system.
- Prepares upcoming CT exams by delivering contrast medium as needed to the floors as needed.
- Assists in maintaining records, respecting confidentiality and follows established policy.
- Assists medical staff with retrieval of information when needed.
- Makes CDs as requested.
- Uploads CDs into Pacs (Picture archive and communication system).
- Scans necessary paperwork into charts as needed.
Who You Are:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in healthcare setting performing similar work activities (preferred)
- Knowledge of computerized clerical functions within imaging.
