$40,495.10 - $52,643.64Medical assistants are CMA (AAMA) certified ancillary staff members who work alongside nurses and physicians, in AMC's outpatient medical offices and clinics providing clinical support in faculty practice sitesRooms patients per standardized rooming policy, supports nursing and provider staff, engages in direct patient care.
Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Taking medical histories
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients
- Preparing patients for examination
- Assisting the physician during exams
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Performing basic laboratory tests
- Instructing patients about medication and special diets
- Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed
- Drawing blood
- performing electrocardiograms
- Removing sutures and changing dressings (under the supervision of RN or provider)
Starting Pay: $19/hr for certified medical assistants.
